Namaste!
What a joy it is to present my creative process to you here on Etsy!
Creativity has been an integral part of my life since I was a little kid making mud pies in my grandparents back yard. Over time I graduated to less ephemeral materials. A few years ago I inherited a beautiful jewelers bench that belonged to my grandfather who repaired watches during the Great Depression. It was full of all sorts of wonderful handmade tools and watch parts. I set it up in my house and it inspired me to pick up jewelry making in earnest.
I find inspiration in many places, but the things that inspire me the most are the materials themselves. They keep me engaged for hours on end as I puzzle out new designs. Materials dictate whether there will be multiple pieces, limited editions, or one of a kind designs. My pieces are assembled from a variety of eclectic materials including antique glass, gemstones, wire, and metal component. Each chosen for their color, texture, shape, gemstone qualities and weight.
My Etsy shop is maintained solely be me including everything from photography, packaging, shipping and book keeping. I'm a regular Girl Friday! The most important thing, besides jewelry design and construction, is customer service. I care about my work and I wish for those who buy it to be delighted with their purchase. Both packaging and correspondence are considered as thoughtfully as the product itself. Whenever I ship something overseas I put it, along with my usual packaging, in a decorative metal tin. This is to ensure safe travel as well as to be a delightful surprise to the recipient.
